Windward "beans" are not Java beans although there is a lot in common between the two concepts. The Windward beans are a way to have your code called when a tag is processed and can be used in both the Java and .NET engine (in .NET using J#).

The sample includes information about how to use beans in both the standard engine and in client-server mode. Client-server mode has been deprecated so please ignore that example.
